This is an impressive spiny trilobite. It is a complete Psychopyge elegans from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This type of trilobite has a LONG, pointed snout, long genal spines, long tailspines, and about 40 vertical spines protruding upward from the entire length of the exoskeleton. This specimen displays all of these features beautifully. The snout, genal spines, and tailspines are all intact and well preserved. The occipital ''horn'' and the entire array of 40 back spines are present and were prepared fully free-standing. Both compound eyes display the individual facets beautifully. This is an excellent example of this long-snouted, long-spined trilobite from Morocco.
