Here is a fabulous example of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Cambrian of Utah. This trilobite is fully complete and almost perfectly articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is quite unusual. The bug exhibits very fine detail - the eyes are easily seen, and the individual thoracic segments are clearly defined. The large, somewhat smooth pygidium is also fully intact. This dark brown trilobite has beautiful, thick exoskeleton that contrasts strikingly with the grey matrix. The bug is wonderfully showcased on the rectangular plate of shale that also has a spiny Baltagnostus eurypyx agnostid trilobite touching the tail of the Asaphiscus! This is simply a museum quality Asaphiscus wheeleri trilobite - you should never have to upgrade this specimen.
