This is a breathtaking trilobite. It is a complete Gabriceraurus mifflinensis from the Platteville Formation of Wisconsin. This specimen is outstretched, which is quite unusual for this type. The left genal spine was added, but a bug like this deserves to be restored to its original splendor. The trilobite has excellent detail preserved. The bug is beautifully displayed on a large block of matrix. This specimen is one of the most displayable US trilobites we've had, and it also just happens to be one of the rarest as well. It is one of those special fossils that a lucky collector will cherish for a lifetime.
