This is a beautiful specimen of Olenellus chiefensis from the Lower Cambrian of Nevada. This fossil was found years ago an just now prepared. The long, crescent-shaped eyes of the trilobite are quite visible, and the telson (tailspine) is tightly attached. The detail on the body of the trilobite is excellent. The bug has beautiful, natural, reddish-brown coloration, which contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix. And, best of all, there is no repair or restoration to this fossil whatsoever. This is easily one of the more displayable specimens of Olenellus chiefensis that we have seen.
