This is a centerpiece trilobite fossil. It is a beautifully sculpted specimen of Hollardops mesocristata from the Devonian of Morocco. This fine specimen is very 3-D and extremely inflated. The wonderfully articulated bug is superbly preserved and exhibits excellent detail. The crescent-shaped compound eyes are just excellent - the individual lenses are beautifully displayed. The black trilobite contrasts extremely well with the light-colored, sculpted limestone. The bug is artistically presented on its pedistal, vertically, and looks like it is crawling up the rock. This is this is one of the most aesthetic and displayable examples of Hollardops we have ever prepared.
