This is a great example of an unusual Olenellid trilobite. It is a fabulous Nephrolenellus geniculatus from Nevada. This type has a wide head, bulbous glabella, no tailspine, and large third segment pleurons that taper into long spines - this specimen showcases these features beautifully. This trilobite is extremely inflated and has very good detail preserved. The trilobite is well showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a top quality example of this unusual Lower Cambrian bug with opisthothorax intact.
