Here is an excellent specimen of a rare trilobite. This type of trilobite used to be called ''Comura cometa Type 1'', but is now called Kayserops marocanensis. This specimen has been expertly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and has extremely fine detail preserved. This uncommon trilobite has long pygidial spines and very long genal spines. The large eyes have most of the individual eye facets are displayed, which is very unusual for this type. The fossil has great, natural black color and superb contrast on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a fabulous display specimen of this unusual Kayserops species from Morocco.
