Here is a rare trilobite. This is a HUGE specimen of Asaphus (Neoasaphus) delphinus from the Ordovician of Russia. It is very easy to see the differences between this bug and the more common Russian Asaphids. This type of trilobite has small eyes and a very pointed cephalon and a triangular pygidium. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and extremely well articulated. The bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. The natural, dark caramel color of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is nicely presented on the large block of limestone. This is a very large and displayable specimen of this highly collectable Asaphid trilobite from Russia.
