Here is a fabulous specimen of two different trilobites from a classic European location. This specimen is from the Ordovician Llandeilo Strata of Valongo, Portugal. The trilobite on the left is Eodalmanitina destombesi. This trilobite displays facets on its eyes, and the long telson (tailspine) is intact - both of these features are usually missing from this species. The trilobite on the right is Dionide mareki. This rare Trinucleid trilobite is very 3-D and displays its LONG genal spines beautifully. Both trilobites have great natural color and are wonderfully showcased in the center of the natural matrix block. Usually, the trilobites from this locality are on very small pieces of matrix and are not very ''showy'' - this specimen is different, it has character! This is a fabulous double specimen of two very different trilobites from Portugal.
