Here is a very large example of Modocia typicalis from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This thick-shelled trilobite is complete and beautifully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The long, wide genal spines are wonderfully displayed, and the distinct pleural spines are easily seen. The red-brown color of the trilobite contrasts extremely well with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well presented on a large plate of pinkish shale. This is a very large example of this very pretty trilobite.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
