This is one of the most sought-after types of trilobites in the world. This is a complete example of Miraspis mira from the Silurian of the Czech Republic. This huge specimen was acquired from the famous Frank Crane Collection. Frank kept the original Ward's label with the specimen, and since Ward's address on the label does not have a zip code, the specimen had to be acquired in the 1960's, or earlier. The trilobite has both free cheeks and is tightly articulated, which is highly unusual. The bug showcases its unique multispinosity - ''spines growing on spines'', if you will. The trilobite is also covered with many pimples, pustules and protuberances. And the counterpart is even included - could this piece be more complete. This is a real find - a classic example of this highly sought-after trilobite that has been in the Frank Crane Collection for many decades.
