This is a classic US trilobite. It is Triarthrus eatoni from the Ordovician layers near Utica, New York. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 2003. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The free cheeks are intact and tightly attached, which is quite unusual. The individual thoracic segments are easily seen, and even the tiny pygidium is present. The bug is nicely showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very nice specimen of Triarthrus from a classic location.
