This is a beautiful Gerastos granulosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is nicely articulated and exhibits very fine detail. Both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The pustulose nature of the large glabella is quite evident, and the eyes are easily seen. The black-brown color of the bug contrasts wonderfully with the light-grey matrix. The fossil is nicely showcased on the natural block of dense limestone. And the best feature of this trilobite is that it has not been air abraided - it was meticulously extracted by hand! This is a fabulous example of Gerastos granulosus from the Atlas Mountains.
