This is a nice enrolled trilobite. It is an Isotelus maximus from Cincinnati, Ohio. This type of trilobite has been selected as the official ''State Fossil of Ohio''. This specimen is nicely enrolled - the tail is tucked under the head, and the edge can be seen jutting out from under the brim of the cephalon. The free cheeks are tight, and the eyes display beautifully. And the bug is still in the natural matrix - it has never been ''popped out''. This is a fine example of this classic US trilobite.
