This is a fabulous example of a rare Odontopleurid trilobite. It is a large Undescribed Odontopleura from Mt. Boutshrafin, Morocco. This type is definitely not either Kettneraspis or Leonaspis, distinguished from them by a broader and flatter free cheek, different eye position and suture, and a more rounded body shape. This type also has an unusually wide pygidium, with twelve slender spines fully intact! This amazing trilobite was microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab, and the results are spectacular. The bug is very inflated and well articulated. The LONG, sweeping pleural and genal spines are also intact, even extending past the tail spines! The trilobite is wonderfully showcased on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is easily one of the best of this type ever prepared, if not the best. It is a large, top quality example of this strange type of spiny trilobite.
