This is a rare US trilobite. It is a large Paciphacops birdsongensis from the Lower Devonian of Tennessee. This trilobite is wonderfully preserved - most of the time this type of trilobite is poorly preserved or somewhat disarticulated. This complete trilobite exhibits great detail - the granulose nature of the large glabella is clearly defined, and the individual lenses of the compound eyes are all intact and beautifully displayed. The bug has outstanding natural color and contrast and is well showcased on the natural block of marlstone that also contains two brachiopods. This is an outstanding specimen of Paciphacops birdsongensis from Tennessee.
