This is an outstanding specimen of Pradoella tazzarinensis from the Ordovician of Morocco. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and extremely 3-dimensional. This type of trilobite has a strange, rounded process (snout) extending from the front of the cephalon that may have been used for digging in the soft mud of the ocean floor. This upturned feature has been prepared in a free-standing position and is beautifully displayed on this specimen. The chocolate-brown exoskeleton contrasts wonderfully with the lighter-colored matrix. The large bug is well centered on the sculpted, concretionary block. This is one of the most displayable specimens of Pradoella that we have seen.
