Here is a very fine example of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Cambrian of Utah. This trilobite is complete and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is unusual. The bug exhibits very fine detail - the eyes are easily seen, and the individual thoracic segments are clearly defined. The large, somewhat smooth pygidium is fully intact. This dark red trilobite has beautiful, thick exoskeleton that contrasts nicely with the pink matrix. The bug is well centered on the triangular plate of shale. This is a great example of Asaphiscus from the ''Red Beds''.
