Here is an uncommon English trilobite . This is Stapeleyella inconstans from the Middle Ordovician. This type of trilobite has a very ornamented cephalic brim and extremely long genal spines. This specimen is 3-dimensionally preserved and wonderfully articulated. The large, bulbous glabella is quite inflated, and the tiny, triangular pygidium is intact. The long genal spines are quite evident, and the detail of the cephalic border is very fine. The bug has nice color and contrast and is well positioned on the plate of shale. This is a great example of this scarce Trinucleid trilobite from England.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
