This is an impressive spiny trilobite. It is a complete Psychopyge elegans from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This type of trilobite has a LONG, pointed snout, long genal spines, long tailspines, and over 40 vertical spines - this specimen displays all of these features beautifully. The snout, genal spines, and tailspines are all intact and well preserved. The occipital ''horn'' and the entire array of 40+ back spines are present and were prepared fully free-standing. This bug was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab - just look at the compound eyes! It is an excellent example of this bizarre, snouted trilobite from Morocco.
