This is a very nice specimen of Flexicalymene retrorsa from the Ordovician of Ohio. This complete trilobite is outstretched and 3-dimensionally preserved. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The bug has thick, chocolate brown exoskeleton that contrasts well with the grey matrix. The trilobite is nicely positioned on the large, natural block of shale. This is an excellent example of a prone Flexicalymene retrorsa.
