Here is an excellent specimen of Dalmanites limulurus from the Silurian of New York. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and wonderfully articulated. The bug is somewhat inflated and exhibits great detail. Both genal spines and the long caudal spine are nicely displayed. The individual lenses of the protruding, compound eyes are quite evident. The large trilobite has excellent color and contrast and is well positioned on the squared plate of shale. This is a very fine specimen of this classic trilobite from New York.
