This is a beautiful plate of unusual spiny trilobites. There are two large ''Devil-Horned'' Cyphaspis and a Proetus sp. on the slab. This amazing fossil was expertly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. You can easily see how these trilobites got their demonic nickname - they have a pair of spiny ''horns'' growing out of their heads. Both Cyphaspis specimens have been prepared with these ''Devil Horns'' free-standing, as well as the genal spines and the long axial spines. There is also an excellent Proetus on the plate that has been prepared vetrally, exposing the hypostome (mouthplate). All three bugs have great detail and display beautifully. And this is a natural triple - all three specimens are preserved as they were when they were buried millions of years ago. This is a very collectible multiple plate of this ''devilish'' spiny trilobite.
