This is a great specimen of Gerastos granulosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is large for the type and extremely inflated. The outstretched bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The eyes are easily seen, and the individual pustules on the large, bulbous glabella are nicely displayed. The black trilobite contrasts beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. The ancient arthropod is wonderfully showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very displayable example of Gerastos from the Atlas Mountains.
