Here is a very unusual trilobite. This is an unidentified Cheirurid from the Devonian of Morocco. This type of trilobite has short genal spines, long pleural spines, and extremely long pygidial spines. It also has two short spines emanating from the front of the cephalon. This specimen displays these features in fine fashion. This complete bug is very 3-dimensional and is nicely articulated. The thick shell of the exoskeleton is well preserved and very detailed. The naturally dark trilobite contrasts well with the grey matrix. The trilobite looks as if it is crawling up and over the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very 3-dimensional example of this uncommon trilobite from Morocco.
