This is an uncommon spiny trilobite. It is a wonderful specimen of Cyphaspis sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. The unusual feature of this trilobite is the extremely long axial spine - this specimen showcases this feature to perfection. The trilobite is extremely inflated and beautifully articulated. The slightly arched trilobite exhibits superb detail - the large, bulbous glabella is covered with pustules, and the eyes are on thick stalks and very prominently displayed. The long genal spines have been prepared in a free-standing manner. The trilobite has excellent natural color. The bug is well presented on the sculpted plate of matrix. This is a fabulous specimen of a rare Cyphaspis with extremely long spines.
