This is a spectacular spiny trilobite. It is a huge Dicranurus monstrosus, known worldwide for its unique, spider-like appearance. This specimen was painstakingly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. The occipital spine ''Ram's Horns'' were prepared fully free-standing, as are the majority of the LONG body spines. The trilobite was meticulously extracted from the large block of limestone - a killer bug showcased atop a blanket of sculpted matrix. This is one of the most impressive display trilobites we have ever prepared. It is hard to imagine a Dicranurus monstrosus with more character.
