This is simply a spectacular trilobite. It is a huge (over five inches long!) Zlichovaspis (=Odontochile) rugosa from the Devonian of Morocco. This 3-dimensional trilobite is not only large, it is also very well preserved. This amazingly outstretched bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The sweeping genal spines are aesthetically displayed, and the long, pointed caudal spine is quite impressive. The large, compound eye facets are also easily seen. The trilobite has beautiful natural color - a striking dark green and red...wow! The bug has been meticulously extracted from the sculpted limestone block that comes with an added display base. This is a monster of a trilobite that showcases its features perfectly.
