This is a very fine Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a complete Olenellus gilberti from Nevada. This trilobite is excellent - very well articulated and finely detailed. The crescent-shaped eyes are easily seen and the sweeping genal spines are beautifully displayed. The long pleural spines are intact and clearly defined - even the long telson (tailspine) is preserved. The bug has natural dark color, which contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. This is a nice, complete specimen of an Olenellus gilberti.
