This is a very fine example of an unusual Ordovician trilobite from Morocco. This is a Mucronaspis zagoraensis, a dalmanitid trilobite. The trilobite displays extremely long genal spines and a long caudal spine. This specimen is very prone and wonderfully articulated. The long spines and large eyes of the trilobite are wonderfully exhibited. The natural, dark grayish (almost black), color of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the lighter colored matrix. The trilobite is well centered on the sculpted block of dense limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this unusual Ordovician trilobite - the best example we have ever had.
