Here is a nice specimen of Phacopina micheli from the Ordovician of France. This classic trilobite is extremely well articulated and almost perfectly prone. The bug is quite inflated and very symmetrical in appearance. The large compound eyes have almost the full complement of facets intact. The natural color of the trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the dark-colored matrix. The trilobite is nicely centered on the natural block of rock. This is a fine example of this well-known type of French trilobite.
