This is a beautiful trilobite that we recently acquired from an old English collection. It is a Lloydolithus lloydi from the Ordovician of England. This prone trilobite is complete and wonderfully articulated. The detail of this bug is just incredible - the finely granulose cephalic fringe is beautifully preserved. The extremely long, thin genal spines are intact and extend way beyond the body of the trilobite. The bug has excellent color and contrast and is well centered on the matrix plate that also contains a second bug!. This is one of the most collectible examples of Lloydolithus that we have seen.
