This is an excellent Pliomera fischeri from the Ordovician of Russia. This trilobite is almost always found enrolled - it is highly unusual to find an outstretched example of this trilobite. This specimen is almost perfectly prone and extremely 3-dimensional. It is well articulated and exhibits fine detail. The free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The small eyes are easily seen and the many, many thoracic segments are clearly defined. The thick-shelled, caramel-colored exoskeleton of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is nicely showcased in the center of the sculpted block of limestone. This is a fabulous specimen of a rare outstretched Pliomera from Russia.
