This is a beautiful spiny trilobite. It is a striking Dicranurus monstrosus from Morocco. This specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This type of trilobite is well-known for its spider-like appearance. This specimen is complete and extremely detailed - the pustulose nature of the thick shell exoskeleton is very easily seen. The occipital spine ''Ram's Horns'' are free-standing, and the body spines are very long and flow beautifully. The trilobite is very 3-D and aesthetically ''off-center'' on the sculpted matrix block. It is a very displayable example of this classic spiny trilobite.
