This is a very spiny US trilobite. It is a beautifully prepared Ceratonurus sp. from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1994, and was just now prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. This type of trilobite has extremely thin genal spines and occipital spines, which have been meticulously prepared in a free-standing manner on this specimen. The bug is extremely inflated and exhibits wonderful detail. The long, flowing pleural spines are beautifully showcased, and even the tiny ''fringes'' of the free cheeks and tail are intact. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix plate. It is very well showcased on the sculpted block of natural limestone. This is a very complete example of one of the most sought-after trilobites from Oklahoma.
