Wow, what an awesome trilobite! This is a complete Boedaspis ensifer from the Kunda Horizon near St Petersburg, Russia. This is one of the most breathtaking types of trilobites we have ever seen. This specimen took a full month to prepare, and you can see why! The trilobite is beautifully articulated and wonderfully prone. All of the long, flowing spines have been prepared in a free-standing manner. The thick shell exoskeleton of the trilobite is amazingly well preserved - the pustulose nature of the skin is easily seen. The fossil has beautiful, natural butterscotch coloration that contrasts strikingly with the bright white matrix - simply spectacular. The bug is showcased in the center of a large, sculpted plate of limestone. This is not the first example of this fabulous trilobite ever found, but as far as quality, it is possibly the best. It is a ''dream come true'' type of trilobite.
