This is a beautiful Proetus granulosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is nicely articulated and exhibits very fine detail. Both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The pustulose nature of the large glabella is quite evident, and the eyes are easily seen. The black-brown color of the bug contrasts wonderfully with the light-grey matrix. The fossil is nicely showcased on the natural block of dense limestone. This is an excellent example of Proetus granulosus from the Atlas Mountains.
