This is a great specimen of Proetus granulosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is large for the type and extremely inflated. The outstretched bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The eyes are easily seen, and the individual pustules on the large, bulbous glabella are nicely displayed. The black trilobite contrasts beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. The ancient arthropod is well presented on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is a very displayable example of Proetus from the Atlas Mountains.
