Here is an excellent specimen of Acaste sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is quite large for the type and is well articulated. It is wonderfully complete with the cephalon slightly arched. The bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The small, protruding eyes are easily seen, and even the individual lenses of the eyes are intact and beautifully displayed. The thick-shelled exoskeleton of the trilobite has great color and contrast. The ancient arthropod is nicely presented on the block of sculpted limestone that has been cut away to expose the cephalon of the trilobite in all its glory. This is a very robust example of this uncommon trilobite from Morocco.
