This is a nice Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a juvenile Wanneria sp. from British Columbia. This is not the more common Olenellus which is also found at this site. This type of trilobite has a large, semi-circular cephalon with sweeping genal spines and relatively small eyes. This outstretched specimen is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The eyes are easily seen, the genal spines are intact, and the individual thoracic segments are clearly defined. The trilobite has very good color and contrast and is well presented on the natural plate of shale that also contains some Olenellus fragments. This is a very crisp example of a ''baby'' Wanneria from the Lower Cambrian.
