This is a very nice specimen of Proetus granulosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is wonderfully outstretched and very 3-dimensional. The bug is well articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The eyes are easily seen, and the individual pustules on the large, bulbous glabella are clearly defined. The black trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. the fossil is nicely centered on the sculpted block of dense limestone. This is a fine example of Proetus granulosus from the Atlas Mountains.
