This is a very nice trilobite trace fossil. It is a large trilobite nest (Rusophycus pudicum) from the Ordovician of Kentucky. This nest was probably made by a Flexicalymene trilobite. The Rusophycus is very 3-dimensional and well positioned on the natural plate of limestone. The detail of the burrow area is exceptional. This is a very detailed and collectible trace fossil - no trilobite collection is complete with out a well preserved nest (Rusophycus).
