Here is a classic US trilobite. This is a large Flexicalymene meeki from the Ordovician of Ohio. This specimen was recently acquired from the DeRosear Collection. This trilobite is wonderfully prone and very 3-dimensionally preserved. It is extremely well articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The dark brown trilobite contrasts beautifully with the green-grey matrix. The bug is nicely showcased on the large, natural block of shale that also includes part of a large Isotelus tail. This is an excellent outstretched example of Flexicalymene meeki from Ohio.
