Here is a very attractive trilobite. This is a highly detailed example of Modocia typicalis from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This thick-shelled trilobite is complete and beautifully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The long genal spines are clearly defined and the pleural spines are wonderfully displayed. The dark color of the trilobite contrasts extremely well with the pinkish-grey matrix. The bug is nicely showcased on the somewhat rectangular plate of shale. This is a very aesthetic specimen of Modocia typicalis.
