This is a great example of an unusual trilobite. It is a complete Asaphus lepidurus from the Ordovician of Russia. This trilobite is from the Kunda Level, meaning it is older in geologic age than most of the Russian trilobites found. This type of Asaphid trilobite has very small eyes - this specimen showcases this feature beautifully. The inflated bug is very symmetrical and well articulated. The trilobite has outstanding color and exhibits superb detail. It is wonderfully presented on the large, natural-edged matrix block. This is an excellent example of this early Asaphid trilobite.
