Here is an interesting plate of trilobites that we recently acquired from an old collection. There are two enrolled examples of Flexicalymene retrorsa on the slab. It is somewhat unusual to find two different trilobites on the same rock. Both trilobites are natural to the plate - they have not been composited, although one did pop out, was prepared, then put back on the rock. Both enrolled trilobites are complete and wonderfully articulated. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The ancient arthropods have great color and contrast and are well presented on the natural plate of shale. This is an uncommon specimen of two natural trilobites from the Arnheim Formation.
