Here is a stunning example of Morocconites malladoides from the Devonian of Morocco. This sleek trilobite has an extremely long spine extending off the front of the cephalon, which has been microscopically prepared in a free-standing manner. This bug is extremely 3-dimensional and well preserved in the classic outstretched position. The wonderfully articulated trilobite is large for the type and exhibits great detail. The black color of the fossil contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is beautifully showcased on the sculpted plate of solid limestone. This is a very collectible display specimen of Morocconites - the Unicorn of trilobites.
