This is a very unusual trilobite from Utah it is a Modocia sp. from the House Range. This specimen was recently acquired from an old collection. This bug differs from the more common Elrathia in that the head is not as wide and the pygidium has a pronounced dimple. The bug has both free cheeks intact and tight, and the overall articulation is excellent. The trilobite is nicely centered on the rectangular matrix plate. This is an unusual type of Modocia that displays extremely well.
