Here is a nice, outstretched trilobite. This is Asteropyge sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This extremely 3-dimensional trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, and the pointed pygidial spines are all present. The large compound eyes are easily seen - most of the individual lenses of the eyes are wonderfully preserved. The bug has outstanding natural color and contrasts beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the natural plate of limestone. This is a very affordable prone Asteropyge from Morocco.
