This is a gorgeous European trilobite. It is a large specimen of Salterolithus caractaci from the United Kingdom. This Trinucleid trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits outstanding detail. The wide, pitted brim of the cephalon is beautifully displayed, and the bulbous glabella is easily seen. The individual thoracic segments are clearly defined, and even the triangular pygidium is present. The bug has great color and contrast and is well centered on the natural plate of matrix that also contains several other partial specimens. This is a beautiful example of Salterolithus from ''across the pond''.
